Hamilton | Family

I met 3 out of the 4 Hamiltons in the Summer of 2016, when my toes were barely wet and I could basically count all of my clients on both hands.

I’ll always remember how warm and welcoming both Jess & Brad were – both with open arms, literally. They’ve continued to be this way to me ever since. B was basically a baby and her smile was just as infectious as it is now. Because of that family session, I’ve been lucky enough to see them again, and again. Pretty much watching this loving family grow, and enjoying every minute of it has to be my favourite part, the mama in me takes over. The bonus (for me) is that I gained an incredibly strong supporter who encourages me every step of the way, something I don’t take for granted, and appreciate beyond words.

I genuinely try to keep it real, and I do take my work personally. This is a personal job! Whether it’s our first and last hang session, or you’re along for the ride, I want you to enjoy our time, and be happy with the outcome. It’s a really humbling experience to spend time with someone, and hand over what you created from whatever story they were telling. The reward is hoping they see the beauty you see, and more importantly – HOW you see it. Trust me, this is much deeper than just a business exchange.

I’ll forever be grateful for Jess allowing me to take creative control over her intimate session with her and V last August (cannot believe that was already a year ago). She was so open minded, and comfortable in her skin. I felt a creative spark to keep pushing because of that session, and I’ll forever look forward to meeting up with these beautiful people who are along for the ride.

To the clients ready to laugh, run around, play, get messy, let go of perfection, and be in the moment.

Fricot | Lifestyle Maternity + Newborn
I walked down the hallway of a Vancouver apartment building ready to meet my very pregnant client for the first time. She was standing in her doorway with the warmest smile, and the most perfectly round bump before I even got close to the door. I remember thinking (1) that bump is too perfectly round to be real. (2) I already don't want to leave. We laughed, we talked, we hung out. One of my favourite elements about in-home lifestyle sessions, is how intimate they are. She wanted something personal, with no fuss. So, that was our mood, relaxed with no fuss. So effortless to photograph, and easy to talk to. Our time was genuine, it's honestly ...
West | Maternity
Word of mouth is everything, and I was fortunate enough to have a family I'm lucky to call repeat clients, refer me to their friends, the Wests. I met the West family in North Vancouver for a quick maternity session. The boys, who are twins - were so sweet and I couldn't tell at all bedtime was around the corner. Mom and dad, who were completely cool, calm, and collected - shared how excited they were to have a daughter on the way. The boys enjoyed throwing the rocks, tickles, and shoulder rides with little to no mention of excitement but we all knew it was there. So happy we were able to make this happen, and so excited for their new advent ...
